The Community Improvement Plan positions the City and the VMC, as a prime location for office development.

Construction is well underway on the VMC with the goal of creating a highly urbanized mixed-use downtown. Existing uses include retail, commercial, hotels, banquet and convention centres, dining establishments, fitness clubs, entertainment, office developments and employment uses. All of the new development will transform the VMC into a complete community with a variety of residential options including affordable housing.

The City is planing for a new YMCA Centre of Community, City library and recreation space in the VMC within the new development. The new mixed-used building is currently in the pre-development phase and will be located at the corner of Apple Mill Road and Millway Avenue adjacent to the YRT Bus Terminal.

The incentives that Vaughan is offering to all new businesses will run until Nov. 17, 2020 or the total office building projects within the Community Improvement Areas issue 139,350 square metres of office space, whichever occurs first.
